Offering a background that includes Backcountry flying and an intimate familiarization with remote wilderness Alaska, flying a myriad of bush planes, from Super Cubs to multi-engine Seaplanes and guiding adventures including fishing within steps of Alaskan brown bears, whale spotting, kayaking, hunting, and scientific research expeditions.
Covering a wide spectrum of aviation, from freight, air ambulance (Durango Air Service), flight instructing, subcontract pilot for NASA / research balloon launch and recovery operations (for Les Cothron Aviation), airline line flying (Captain 6 yrs w Northwest Airlink), Alaska bush flying (Homer Air / Kenai Fjords Outfitters), to international luxury jet operations at Flexjet. Loving the variation, I still have the backcountry in my blood, own a Cessna 180 (otherwise known as "the Alaska State Bird") and SeaRey amphibian seaplane, and live in a hangar-house adjacent to my own grass airstrip 'in the "sticks" southeast of Dallas, TX. Frequent BBQ's, live music, and family fun can be found at Coyote Field. I claim TX, CO, & AK as home.
Hooked on flying by the writings of Richard Bach, while in college I worked as a lineman at a small airport in Nacogdoshes, TX. I obtained my A&P (aircraft maintenance) license and IA (Inspection Authorization) and a degree in Psychology while acquiring flight ratings and experience, building cabins in Colorado and backpacking Australia along the way. I love the sophisticated flying/elite service at Flexjet but still enjoy 'grass roots' flying and helping my friends with their airplanes and adventures in the backcountry.
